In the closing days of 2009, I look back on the past year. Although it was one of the first pictures of this past year, it is still my favorite, and a picture many have fallen in love with. I hope you enjoy a safe and happy New Year!

2009 = Tough Year
December 21 st, 2009
This was a tough year for many people. For many jobs were lost, homes were foreclosed upon, and life was just generally unkind. However, if I have learned anything, its to always look at the hope of the future. On a brighter note this is the darkest day of the year, from here on out it is going to be lighter, longer per day. Here is to 2010.

On the eve of the year anniversary of the start of our major snow storms last year, I thought about all that gets lost in the coverage. One of those things which gets lost is the animals. What happens when it floods? Cows get stranded on an island.

Moving in on one year!
December 10th, 2009
Well I am moving in on a year of being a "Photo-blogger". I had a goal of sticking with this for a year and seeing where it took me. I have had more success then I could ever imagine, allowing me to really pursue a strong love and passion of mine. At the turn of the year I will be starting an "Official" photographer's site and move into the professional field of photography.
I will visiting beloved Europe and will try to make a few posts while on vacation while visiting Germany, Rome, and Paris.
As we move to the end of the year I thought it would be a nice reflection to look at the top 10 pictures from this past year.
As cliche as it is, Kerry Park provides photographers with a spectacular view of the Pacific Northwest's finest city. Although more known for the sunset photos, I rose early this time last year and got a before sun rise glow with Mt. Rainer in the background.

An Evening With the Sounders
November 4th, 2009
This week the Seattle Sounders will compete in a winner moves on game with the Houston Dyanamo. Last weekend I was privileged to not only buy tickets, but then to win better seats through a local radio station. If you have never been to a game, the Seattle Sounders are quickly becoming a must see attraction. With the lively atmosphere Seattle is becoming the Yankees of the MLB or the Patriots of the NFL . All I Want for Christmas.......No More Construction!
November 3rd, 2009
As there was nothing better to do today, I decided to head out and take pictures of the most dreaded word in a Northwesterner's dictionary: Construction. For the past two decades, road construction has been a way of life for everyone here in the emerald city. It seems everywhere you turn, regardless of time of year. I long for the day, where I can drive from point A to point B without having to see some of these colorful road detours.

Storybook Canopy
October 25th, 2009
Today features a guest contributor.
I walked through the garden as a child does in a storybook. The kind of story that involves fantastical, twisty trees that shelter from the cold, crisp, autumn air. And scattered leaves that catch fire from drops of light that fall carelessly from the sky. Had the garden allowed, I would have sat myself under this tree, opened the pages of a similar story, and read it through the morning; But alas, it was forbidden. So I take with me this picture of my storybook canopy and remember the imagination of my childhood'

Welcome to 200!!!
October 23rd, 2009
As a celebration of my 200th post a riddle is told.
1.) Where a "Full 90" is required.
2.) This Stadium is recognized as the official host of Washington States Gold and Purple Day. As Declared by Cristine Gregoire.
3.) This ______ is for you!
4.) If a Siesta is what you need, a street is where I am.
5.) The "Waining Minutes" reveal the Emerald of the City.
The first post to get all 5 correctly, wins a fantastic free print of a picture of their choosing, either poster size (24x36 or smaller).
Today is a Self Portrait. As I was at Snoqualmie Falls recently, there was nothing to capture or put the perspective of the falls into focus. Being as such, I decided I would try to enter my art, and become not the focus, but a balancing solution to the equation, of the capture

Going Up
October 16th, 2009
In the heart of downtown Seattle, there is a brick building which will soon be towered over by a new developing sky scraper. As I was walking by, I was struck by the shear size of development which has taken place over the last century. Buildings which once were the prize of their day, the Smith building, are now dwarfed by buildings two to three times their size. Even the Columbia Tower building is 3/4 the size of the former World Trade Center in NYC. At 80 stories it towers over Seattle and our bit of metropolia here in the northwest.

Blue Seat Special
October 9th, 2009
As the fall comes into full swing, for those of us who are sports fans, October represents the best month of the year. Hear in the northwest we have our own fall sports to be proud of, The Seattle Seahawks. The 12th Man has become a nationwide phenomenon, with Qwest Field being known as the loudest stadium in the world. Recently I took a tour of the stadium and saw it fitting as we head into a weekend home game, come Sunday, these blue seats will be filled with thousands of dedicated fan cheering on their team in frigid conditions.

Perception
September 30th, 2009
Today was the first day I have actually thought, " Man I might need to wear my jacket today." My next thought was that I could not remember the last time i wore my jacket this summer. It has been an immaculate summer here in the Northwest, seemingly never ending. However it has come to a close, and as we look forward to fall and winter, I reached deep into the recesses of last winter and found this gem from Snoqualmie Falls. Just a short 30 minute drive east of Seattle, the falls are a barometer of the fall and winter.

A Mountain Wedding
September 14th, 2009
I was blessed to have a couple ask me to do their wedding this past weekend. It was a blessed event, and one that I learned a lot from. Hiking up a 14,000 foot mountain and having a wedding is a unique idea, and one that poses many challenges. I struggled with finding the right white balance and flash sensory, but I was able to capture a few gems. This is one of my favorite.
The day started cloudy, and I was just thankful it was not raining. Mt. Rainer cooperated beautifully!

Fire and Glass
September 7th, 2009
During the three day weekend, I was able to take a ride down I-5 to the Museum of Glass in Tacoma. As we sat and watched the glass artist cultivate his latest piece of work, you could feel the intense heat from the oven (30 feet away). As the artist worked, I snapped this picture, as he pushed the soon to be martini glass into the fire, the care finesse for the art are visible in the conviction of the work.

Pike Place Perfection
August 25th, 2009
On a crowded afternoon Pike's Place in the midst of summer is a site to behold, as a Chuck Perry, might attest, Almost One A Day, its a wondrous place which every Seattlite should experience at least 10 times. In this shot, who is driving? and who is walking? A gorgeous hot-rod on a gorgeous day.

15th Ave Coffee and Tea...uhherr I mean Starbucks
August 22nd, 2009
Looking back through my collections from the summer, it had slipped my mind that I had gone to the opening of the 15h Ave Coffee and Tea aka Starbucks. It is amazing how just as in personal life, in corporate life if you try to hard, it just doesn't work. Somehow it just rubbed me the wrong way.
