Those Were the Days

Ocotber 19th, 2009

As I looked through pictures I had yet to post from my collections of past, I thought this one might help brighten your day as we think of sunnier times.

A Mountain Wedding

S
eptember 14th, 2009

I was blessed to have a couple ask me to do their wedding this past weekend. It was a blessed event, and one that I learned a lot from. Hiking up a 14,000 foot mountain and having a wedding is a unique idea, and one that poses many challenges. I struggled with finding the right white balance and flash sensory, but I was able to capture a few gems. This is one of my favorite.

The day started cloudy, and I was just thankful it was not raining. Mt. Rainer cooperated beautifully!

It's All About Perspective

August 5th, 2009

Whever you are in the city of Seattle, the Space Needle seems to always make its presence known. Laying on the grass and taking a siesta in the middle of a recent heat wave, I found myself captivated by the reflection of this 1970's monument of creation.

Ice Cream, You Have Met Your Match

May 30th, 2009

This young tyke was in fierce combat with his ice cream cone; the jury is still out on who won. What better way to spend your day then down on the Seattle Waterfront? Hope you are having a great day, if not, grab some ice cream!

Upward Beauty

May 26th, 2009

As I was out hiking over the weekend, beneath the canopy of the forest I looked up to find blue birds and robins chirping along our path accompanying us. If you stop and pause and take a minute to reflect you can see things you never dreamed of.

"Without reflection there can be no growth"

Below is a song -Yo-Yo Ma Cello suite #1
Its only 2 1/2 minutes long so close your eyes and take those two minutes to reflect.

Peeking

M
ay 12th, 2009

In the midst of Spring, you can get glimpses of summer. This shot was taken this last weekend on a wonderfully warm afternoon, with the sun bathing my skin with the outstandingly unhealthy UV rays, and I loved every second of it!

Race To Tiger Mountain

April 6th, 2009

What a gorgeous weekend! As you can see I have not posted for the last two days due to the lack of being inside and having time to sit around at the computer. We spent Sunday hiking for a good 6 hours and managed to make the peak of Tiger Mountain through 3-6 feet of snow from 2000 feet on up! What a view and well worth the Sunburn and numbing toes.

Congratulations to E4H(Engineer for Hire) for winning the 100th posting competition!

Lake...Rainer?

M
arch 9th, 2009

After a couple well needed days off I figured it time to draw on my pool of pictures from this last week. I saw this couple there and thought, " What a great way to spend your lunch". Mt. Rainer as the background, and Lake Washington as the water mid-ground.

Now Presenting: The U.S. Coast Guard

M
arch 4th, 2009

With the spotty weather, you have to get all the training in you can. The U.S. Coast Guard has done a swell job of it here, using their fast response boats to speed to a simulated rescue roughly 1nm away. The Space Needle provides a great backdrop for the shot.

Skyward

February 22nd, 2009

Sometimes its important to take an awareness of yuor surroundings. It is always refreshing to just look around and realize all the majesty which surrounds us in our everyday lives. This is just a quick snapshot looking up through the trees towards the sun, an everyday activity.

February 1st, 2009
Wonderful Pike's Place Market, shows off its true colors when the sun comes out. A local coffee shop visitor, allowed me to photography his Vespa, as he talked on the phone before he headed out.

Glowing Snowdrops

At a time of year when snow is expected it can come with such great surprise. However, there is something magical about waking up in the morning and opening the curtain only to find a cool, warm blanket of snow. The silence which accompanies the "Majestic White" is unmistakable. You can hear your inner most thoughts, and, also, it might possibly be the only time you actually listen to the sound and rhythm of your own breathing, quiet, interrupted by a slight rush of wind through your rapidly freezing lungs.

Growing Dawn

December 5, 2008

I have been eager to get up to Kerry Park for some time now. Even though it is the cliche, place to take pictures of the Seattle skyline, it has that reputation for a reason. The sight line is incredible and rewards patience if you are willing to watch a full sunrise. Some of the pictures rewarded in this morning are some of my favorite of all time. However, it can get somewhat crowded, and if you are an amateur do not be too intimidated by professionals who happen to take up residence alongside you.

This very morning I was blessed to be shooting next to a pro. A gentleman who happened to be a lens tester for Canon! How in the world do you get that job? Yet, I failed to ask this single question, due to the awe inspiring vista which lay before us.
