The Mysterious

January 17th, 2009

Fog has beseeched our region, if you haven't noticed, in recent days. This is a pond close to my living quarters which has seen a rise in its water level, as well as animals. I am hoping we might see some sun-breaks sometime this weekend!

Belltown Rising

January 16th, 2009

Even though the Seattle metropolitan area is not as large in square mileage compared to many other cities, there are a substantial amount of colorful architectural designs. This is a relatively new building in the Belltown District which has seen several new creations jettison into the Seattle skyline.

A "Watch"ful Day

January 15th, 2009

On my way out the door yesterday morning I ran to put my watch on and inspiration struck me. As soon I walked through the door after work, the re-creation was upon me in an attempt to see exactly what I was looking at when hurriedly I rushed into the room.

The Gas Phenomenon

January 14th, 2009
Gas Works Park can be (has been) a place of inspiration for many, and I am no different. Being able to sit along some steps and soak in the broad landscape which IS Seattle is always captivating no matter how many times I visit the park. This picture was captures with a brief break in the clouds after several days of gray. I am looking forward to a couple of days of this as the forecasters have been predicting to lighten my soul. I would love to hear your stories of the park, good:) or bad :(.

Great Day for a Read

January 13th, 2009
In the grayness which defines a true Northwest Winter, it's a great time to start a new book. I was wondering the stacks at a local Barnes and Noble on my lunch break and caught this gentleman immersed in the happenings of his newest novel.

A Day In Memorium

January 12th, 2009

It's a day which will be remembered for quite some time in the Seattle area. It, is the day the Seattle P-I will cease to function as an active newspaper or possible an internet only publication. Since putting its first paper out on December 10th, 1863, the PI has been an institutional name in the region and will be sadly missed if it is not bought within 60 days. Whether you are on the left or on the right, is of no matter, it is always a tragedy when a hard-news newspaper is pushed into the Sound.( Hopefully to be heard from again)

A Visible Slowdown on the Waterfront

January 11th, 2009

The economic downturn has a had a very visible effect in downtown Seattle. As I visited the hallowed halls of one of the cities most poignant and celebrated venues, it was all to evident that times are tough here as well. As you may trace the market with your footsteps you will notice a very graphic downturn in foot-traffic as well as vendors, there just isn't the money there once was to support it. So if you get a chance, talk a walk down memory lane or create a new one, at our once and hopefully always thriving, Pikes Place Market.
