It seems as if this Blue Heron knew the shutter was about to close on him, as he quickly turned right before this picture, offering himself in a complete silhouette against a backdrop of the Olympic Mountains.

Lone Fighter
January 27th, 2009On a day which allowed me to view more birds in one particular park then I ever had the privilage of seeing before, there stood a lone American-Robin, who was by no means camera shy. He kept fluttering for attention and hoping around toward me as I turned away. If you look closely you can see him almost smiling.
