Lake...Rainer?

M
arch 9th, 2009

After a couple well needed days off I figured it time to draw on my pool of pictures from this last week. I saw this couple there and thought, " What a great way to spend your lunch". Mt. Rainer as the background, and Lake Washington as the water mid-ground.

Great Day for Music

M
arch 3rd, 2009

With the surprisingly warm weather, it was a nice twist to the day to have the sunshine out and about. This little girl and her mom stopped to listen to the sounds of one of the Pikes Place Market performers

Morning Workout

March 1st, 2009

In the northwest, alternative lifestyles are trendy, regardless of age. This woman was using her scarf as a workout tool in a stretching and aerobic exercise tool. With the backdrop of the Seattle skyline and Mt. Rainer as her motivation, who needs an instructor!?

Best Seat in the House

February 29th, 2009

Seattle can be beautiful from almost any vantage point, you just have to take a second to lift your head up, and look. This is a run down dock on the outskirts of the industrial zone around Harbor Island, with a great place to dangle your legs over the edge and ponder the meaning of life.

Springtime?

F
ebruary 27th, 2009

Just a day after a couple of inches hit the Puget Sound Region, the sun shone brightly! A high of 47 degrees and nothing but sunshine. However, forecasts only have the sunshine predicted for a day. Hope some of you are able to get out and enjoy the lovely weather. Is spring on the way?

Pike and Pine

February 24th, 2009

The corner of Pike and Pine is normally synonymous with the Pikes Place Market, however just across the street on a lovely day one can hear the wandering melody of a street performer.

A Dock To Far

February 23rd, 2009

Atmosphere is always present in an early morning fog, and brings out the best in a rather ordinary setting. I love pictures in the fog, if you have been a follower for any length of time you will notice many of the posts here have been of scenes in fog. Today is a new tale, one that draws you to wonder, whats out there? What could it have been? How long has it been there?

Caution: Sunset

On this glorious February day, I caught this shot and thought it rather comical.

Secret Garden

February 18th, 2009

In the midst of growth and urban sprawl, there is peace to be found between the hallowed steel buildings. This is one of those many hard to find places, which are very WORTH finding.

Time For School

February 15th, 2009

Today is a Sunday, however, I caught this picture and new what I wanted to do with it immediately. I do not normally post any edited pictures, until today. This school bus drove into the frame, and i was made at first, however after viewing the picture it definitely stood out. Enjoy!

Love

February 14th, 2009

Spending today with someone you love is important, however, I have never understood the important commercialization of a day. Why can't I make the woman I love feel that way every day of they year, instead of just one?

Off the soap box, a little store getting their final sale out before the big V day.

The Other Side of the Water

February 13th, 2009

Wonderful Husky Stadium. It can be somewhat picturesque at times, even though it is not on of the nicer facilities in college football. From across the Lake Washington, one can almost hear the sound of autumn crowds bellowing out of this Northwest lair.

A Giant...

February 10th, 2009

Seeing the tail section of a Boeing 747 can hurriedly apply perception to ones life. Having a chance to take a visit to the Future of Flight and Aviation at the Boeing plant in Everett, Wa was a dream come true for me. I have always loved planes, and wanted to fly since I can remember. However, being a teacher was in my genes and were my path took me. I still yearn for the skies, and taking the tour was mind boggling. This shot sums up the tour for me.

Love Is In the Air

February 9th, 2009

What a wonderful day for a walk! A short turn from the drainage pipe and the colored steps, is a spectacular door of the north side of Post Alley lays way to a spectacular view of a growing Seattle skyline. Can't help but notice the Irish pride being displayed in a city not necessarily known for its large Irish immigrants.

Drain Crawler

February 8th, 2009

Belltown, in Seattle, can offer a photographer a smorgasbord of subjects to feast the lens on. Today, was no different, as I walked about as my girlfriend was getting her hair cut, I stumbled upon this interesting idea of a drain pipe crawling up the side of an apartment building.

Framed

February 5th, 2009

I was unable to get out and about today so thought I would use a picture I took the other weekend up at the falls. Its wonderful when you can take a naturally framed shot and don't have to tell someone not to move until you get the right picture.

Troubled Times

February 3rd, 2009
I write with a heavy heart after being out and about today. It seems no place is immune to the downturn of the economy, including the Seattle waterfront. I wish somehow, those who have everything could walk next to someone who has nothing, and then listen to the justification of $13billion in taxpayed bonuses. Even as Seattle's homeless rate rises, the call for help to puppy mills is so loud. However, I posed this question to my girlfriend the other day, In times so hard, when does an animal life become worth more then a human life? As people are volunteering by the hundreds to adopt abused puppies, who takes in people?.... people like this gentleman who had nothing but the clothes on his back and a torn and crusted novel to keep him company.

Walking

February 2nd, 2009
Walking into the light, is something we all dream about, well, maybe not necessarily dream about, but possibly fear. However, this walker is not concerned with walking into the light at the end of this tunnel.
