Blue Mountain

October 3rd, 2009

What a splendid view! Mt. Rainer provides hikers and tourists alike with views from up to 100 miles away. Up close its even more stunning. On this day the clouds subsided just enough to allow a clear view of the top of the mountain.

A Mountain Wedding

S
eptember 14th, 2009

I was blessed to have a couple ask me to do their wedding this past weekend. It was a blessed event, and one that I learned a lot from. Hiking up a 14,000 foot mountain and having a wedding is a unique idea, and one that poses many challenges. I struggled with finding the right white balance and flash sensory, but I was able to capture a few gems. This is one of my favorite.

The day started cloudy, and I was just thankful it was not raining. Mt. Rainer cooperated beautifully!

Where the Mountain Grows

July 23rd, 2009

As the warm weather faded for the day, I snapped this picture. It seems you always know where you are, all you have to do is find where the mountain is.

What Makes the Northwest, the Northwest

July 1st, 2009

Under the watchful eye of Mt. Rainer a container ship is unloaded at the Port of Seattle. As one of the busiest ports in North America, Seattle has seen an increase in ship traffic over the last seven years. However, with the relative inablity to expand, we are not likely to see that traffic continue on the uptick. Much of the traffic has progressively

Race To Tiger Mountain

April 6th, 2009

What a gorgeous weekend! As you can see I have not posted for the last two days due to the lack of being inside and having time to sit around at the computer. We spent Sunday hiking for a good 6 hours and managed to make the peak of Tiger Mountain through 3-6 feet of snow from 2000 feet on up! What a view and well worth the Sunburn and numbing toes.

Congratulations to E4H(Engineer for Hire) for winning the 100th posting competition!

Lake...Rainer?

M
arch 9th, 2009

After a couple well needed days off I figured it time to draw on my pool of pictures from this last week. I saw this couple there and thought, " What a great way to spend your lunch". Mt. Rainer as the background, and Lake Washington as the water mid-ground.

Morning Workout

March 1st, 2009

In the northwest, alternative lifestyles are trendy, regardless of age. This woman was using her scarf as a workout tool in a stretching and aerobic exercise tool. With the backdrop of the Seattle skyline and Mt. Rainer as her motivation, who needs an instructor!?

Growing Dawn

December 5, 2008

I have been eager to get up to Kerry Park for some time now. Even though it is the cliche, place to take pictures of the Seattle skyline, it has that reputation for a reason. The sight line is incredible and rewards patience if you are willing to watch a full sunrise. Some of the pictures rewarded in this morning are some of my favorite of all time. However, it can get somewhat crowded, and if you are an amateur do not be too intimidated by professionals who happen to take up residence alongside you.

This very morning I was blessed to be shooting next to a pro. A gentleman who happened to be a lens tester for Canon! How in the world do you get that job? Yet, I failed to ask this single question, due to the awe inspiring vista which lay before us.
