Where the Red Fern Fell

While we are in the midst of a minor heat wave in the northwest, it thought I would take a stroll and caught this pine felled where it stood. In what used to be the "State of Logging" is interesting to see how many "tree huggers" we now have, as well as how many trees we, as a state, try to save.

During a routine walk to school, one can be reminded of all the sacrifices made for that freedom. For those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, a simple thank you is never enough, yet, it seems the whole of English language cannot fathom a word to encompass a passionate, emotion which simply... there are no words.
